About Early Edit

Early Edit is a small editorial team in London. We visit venues before we list them, we don't take money from venues to influence ranking, and we label every entry honestly.

Who we are

Early Edit is published by a small editorial team based in London. We are parents of babies and toddlers ourselves, working with a network of London contributors who visit venues with their own children. There is no single founder face on this site by design — the editorial standard is the team's, not any one person's.

How we curate

We use four provenance labels — and we apply them strictly:

Editorial standards

We label sponsorship per the UK Advertising Standards Authority's CAP Code. "Sponsored" appears only where money or measurable value has been exchanged, and the disclosure is on the listing itself — not buried in a footer. Auto-curated picks are tagged "Featured" so the distinction stays legible.

We do not accept payment to alter or remove a visited entry's notes. A venue cannot pay to upgrade from listed to visited — only an in-person visit by our team unlocks that tier.

Photos are tagged by provenance ("Venue-supplied", "Stock", or "Visited"). We do not use AI-generated imagery for real places. We do not publish identifiable photos of children, including those submitted by parents.

While we build the per-venue photography programme, some venue pages carry a stock placeholder — a generic Unsplash photo labelled clearly on the page itself ("Stock placeholder — not a photo of this venue"). These are scheduled to be replaced with real venue imagery as our editorial team visits each location.
